Photography WishList

On my list of things to eventually get for my photography gigs is a cool ringflash and a new lens! I'm specifically interested in the ABR800 AlienBees Ringflash and the Sigma 10-20mm.

AIGA Poker Card Design

Awhile back I mentioned a project I was working on for the AIGA, in which I did a special photoshoot (here) and then based a design around the selected image. Well, here is the final design.

Changes

Exciting things are on the horizon! Check out my other blog for a sneak peek!

My photography as mostly hobby is turning into a nice little side business. People are catching on and beginning to book appointments with me! I am one busy girl on my weekends now and LOVING it. Because of the demand, not to mention my passion for shooting pretty pictures, I have decided to focus even more on photography. I will still do freelance design when the opportunity arises and definitely will still have my day job, but I am super excited at what my future holds as, (gasp!) a photographer!

Basically, I am developing an identity and marketing strategies for photography due to the amount of interest I've been getting. Website, business cards, etc are coming soon. Yay!!!

On top of the marketing I will be doing, I will continue to focus on learning more and more. It's just the beginning.

Julianne Moore

Julianne Moore is amazing! I think she is so beautiful, has such a unique look and just radiates natural sex appeal and glamour. Look at these fantastic new shots of her gracing the cover of Vogue Paris, photographed by Mario Testino. This definitely serves as inspiration for me, photographically speaking. The shoes, the jewelry, hair, makeup and colors are just perfect! (Hope the sheer top in the bottom photo doesn't offend any of you.)

New Photoshoot: Larry B.

Took some shots of Larry this morning out at Lake Las Vegas. I think they turned out pretty good! What do you think?

Railroad Pass Trail

I went hiking today with Austin and my mom at this really cool trail overlooking Lake Mead. What makes it so cool is that it used to be an old railroad track long ago. The track is no longer there but the tunnels are!

Lindsay as Marilyn

I'm sure by now everyone has heard of Lindsay Lohan's recent photo-spread in New York Magazine. If you haven't already seen the images, yu can view them here. I think they are just incredible! Lindsay did a great job channeling her idol in these.

Another great find from Design Crush!

Oh, how I wish I could have attended this exhibit! It is from John Huck's most recent exhibition, called "Couples". Fascinating work there!

Thank you Design Crush!

Photography Resolutions

For this years resolutions, I included learning more about photography. I am considering signing up for a non-credit class through UNLV in February. But, I am also getting more invloved in the local Photography MeetUp Group. The group had been pretty stagnant last year, when I joined, but it looks as if things are picking up and people are showing more interest this year! I started a flickr group page for it, and people are starting to participate there too, which is very exciting! I cannot wait to grow in photography with this group!

Lens Lust

I just cleaned my camera lens and am charging my battery in preparation of a fun little photo shoot I am doing for a friend this evening. We are heading to the south side of the strip to shoot my friend and her fiance in front of the Welcome to Las Vegas sign! How much fun will that be?

Really wish I had this lens by canon for this shoot though...

One of these days, the Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM Telephoto Lens will be mine, all mine!
