I just cleaned my camera lens and am charging my battery in preparation of a fun little photo shoot I am doing for a friend this evening. We are heading to the south side of the strip to shoot my friend and her fiance in front of the Welcome to Las Vegas sign! How much fun will that be?
Really wish I had this lens by canon for this shoot though...
One of these days, the Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM Telephoto Lens will be mine, all mine!

Audrey at IKEA
I saw this print last month at IKEA in CA and loved it.
I think it would look really pretty in a modern black and white bedroom with splashes of bright color via acessories. The print measures 35½"x35½".

Started my day with a walk for a good cause. GREAT people watching to be done at these events! This is my favorite shot from the morning. Those girls are adorable! The one to the left dropped her popcicle moments later.
Thanks to Misty, Misty's roommate Andy and Lisa for keeping it real AND fun!!!

Full set of photos from todays event can be found here.

Chez Jays
Fun little restaurant in Santa Monica. Great food and a casual atmosphere. Used to be a bit of a secret. Last time I was there, Michelle Pfeiffer sat in the booth next to me. I'd love to be there today for lunch with a few close friends!

Sofas
Recently I stumbled across this sofa, Jane by Gus Design Studio, on someones blog...most likely Style Court or Apartment Therapy.
Isn't this beautiful?
Another one I'm fond of is this one by Jayson Home & Garden...
Not too crazy about linen though.

Update:
Just found the matching chair for the Jane Sofa!!!
If I had the money, I would run out and purchase these tonight!

Fleux
Apartment Therapy NY wrote about this place today. I looked at the website for Fleux and fell in love with this image of their window display.
I'm really feeling a pull for all things Parisian lately.

I'll be walking this coming saturday morning. I can't seem to get enough of these charity walks! I'm really doing this one so that I have I can take photographs to include in the company newsletter, since so many of our employees will be participating.

Paradise Almost Found

Desert Scenery in Tucson
Originally uploaded by sfraz71.
Less than 2 weeks until my first real, yet solo vacation! It will be one full week of rest, relaxation, renewal and revitalization! I will be focusing on fitness, healthy living and learning to let go of all this accumulated stress for 7 whole days! I absolutely CANNOT WAIT!!! I'm definitely going to be missing my most attentive boyfriend though. What am I going to do without him for an entire week? I'm so grateful he's being so understanding of my need to take this journey. He's probably hopeful to see my stress level reduced, my energy restored and my sense of joy come back though...just as I am!

Modern Glamour
Yet another book to lust after. What is it with me and paper, words and images? This one looks packed with all kinds of inspirational images.
Modern Glamour: The Art of Unexpected Style by Kelly Wearstler
And, while I'm at it, add this one too. I'd buy it for the title alone!

MarieBelle
I've seen this product before at one of my favorite little cafe/wine shops, Bleu Gourmet in Summerlin, but was reminded of it this morning on the Style Court blog....
Isn't the packaging design lovely? What a great little gift set this would make!

Congratulations Manuel!
Camera Bags 2
I remembered reading about this bag in the current edition of JPG Magazine. Kinda cute! And, it's affordable!

It seems to be the most stylish of mid to large sized camera bags I have come across so far.

Just call me an addict
I cannot for the life of me stop buying work related books!
Here is just one of the latest...
Inspirability: 40 Top Designers Speak Out About What Inspires (Hardcover)
I haven't read a word of it yet, but really admire its pretty green cover, which is a sort of velvet with a flourish design carved throughout exposing a glossy varnish.
http://www.amazon.com/Inspirability-Designers-Speak-About-Inspires/dp/1581805551
I also purchased ALL ACCESS: The Making of Thirty Extraordinary Graphic Designers.
http://www.amazon.com/Inspirability-Designers-Speak-About-Inspires/dp/1581805551
One of the things I have a love/hate relationship with, in my chosen field, is the constant quest for inspiration and learning opportunities. Reading many, many books and trade magazines is one of the ways I stay inspired, motivated and up-to-date. I have also found inspiration in photography, which can tie into my job as a designer, yet not always. And, my latest source is this very blog!

Architectural Ring
Tiffany & Co. has an 'everyday' ring I have been admiring. It's modern and simplistic...just right for daily wear. One of the things I like about it is that is is from the Frank Gehry Collection....an architect designed the ring!

I'm also quite fond of this estate Tiffany ring...
